Amaranth Records is an outgrowth of a weekly web-wide music sharing session, ImprovFriday, that began in 2009. Since then literally dozens of musicians from all over the globe have gathered each weekend, to offer up improvisations (and improvisations on the improvisations!) in a casual and friendly way. So much good material is produced at these sessions, that it was only a matter of time before people started thinking about a way to select and feature some of the best work. Amaranth Records was born to do just that.
